Plato was an ancient Greek philosopher and one of the most influential thinkers in Western history. A student of Socrates and teacher of Aristotle, he founded the Academy in Athens, one of the earliest institutions of higher learning. Plato explored topics such as justice, ethics, politics, and knowledge through philosophical dialogues. His theory of Forms proposed that the physical world reflects a higher, perfect reality. His writings have shaped philosophy, education, and political thought for over two thousand years.
