While he certainly exhibits ENTP-like traits—such as an impressionable nature and the ability to transform external input into something new (like sublimating the liberating thrill of a "fight" into a terrorist organization)—he possesses, to an even greater degree, the qualities of an ESTP (Entrepreneur). Tyler’s objective is not to observe how people react under stress, as an ENTP might; rather, he seeks to pursue his own (reckless and selfish) goals and craves intense sensory experiences that make him feel truly alive. He thrives on overcoming challenges, constantly seeking stimulation, and acting on impulse.
